Penguin Love (Created by Jane Z.)

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!
Come join our monthly challenge...and you could be the next winner of two High Hopes Stamps of your choice.  The details for the December Challenge - Christmas/Winter theme can be found here

Only 1 week left until Christmas!  To help you get in the Holiday spirit, here is another festive card that I made.

This is Penguin Love (SS003).  These two little penguins are just plain cute!

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to the penguin's beak, feet and holly berries.  Frosted Lace Stickles were used on the fur and pompoms of the hats.  I just love all the sparkle and glitter on Christmas cards!

The image was die cut using a Stitched Rectangle die.  Some SU Green Galore Ink was sponged on the edges of the image and a rectangular piece of the matching cardstock was placed under the image for layering.  Glitter vellum paper (called Holly Flourish) was cut then folded over top of a piece of white cardstock.  This allowed the tape to be hidden on the back side of the glitter vellum paper, in order to secure it to the white cardstock.  This piece was centred on the red cardstock base of the card.  To add some more glitter, I used a couple of strips of Starfoam Sticker Lines.  These stickers are sooo fun, quick, and easy to use.  On this card, the strips made for a nice edge on the glitter vellum cardstock to give it more of a sharp and clean appearance.  To add a bit more sparkle, 3 YNS-Holly Jolly Sparkly Gumdrops were also included around the main image.

For the Season's Greetings sentiment, I used another package of Starfoam Stickers - called text.  This is a quick option and there is a large selection of these stickers available with different sentiments; however, any High Hopes sentiment would work well with some silver embossing powder too.

Supplies Used:
Ink - Tombow Markers - N15, N35, N55, N75, N95, 491, N60, 847, 977, 133, 245, 055, and 985.  Versamark Ink Pad, Black Embossing Powder and SU Green Galore Ink Pad for sponging the edges of the image.

Paper - SU Real Red, Green Galore,  and White Cardstock; Papermania Glitter Vellum - Holly Flourish.

Misc - Glossy AccentsFrosted Lace Stickles, Stitched Rectangle Die, Starfoam Stickers - Lines & Text, YNS-Holly Jolly Sparkly Gumdrops, Sponge Dauber, Water Brush, Foam Tape, and Glue Dots.

Thanks for stopping by!

Winking Snowman - Gift Card Holder (Created by Jane Z.)

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!
Come join our monthly challenge...and you could be the next winner of two High Hopes Stamps of your choice.  The details for the December Challenge - Christmas/Winter theme can be found here

As Christmas is rapidly approaching, I thought I would make a quick and easy gift card holder that could be used for those "not-so easy" people to buy for on your lists!!!

Inside view of the Gift Card Holder

This is Winking Snowman (RR001), along with the sentiments called Warm Winter Wishes (G310) and To:/From (E068).  I just love snowmen images...they are just so adorable!

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to the snowman's nose.  Gold Stickles were used on the buckle of the snowman's hat.  I just gotta have some glitter on my cards-LOL!

The image was fussy cut out.  The die used to cut the gift card holder is from MFT.  The pattern paper is from Doodlebug - Sugarplums 6x6 Paper Pad, along with some SU Pacific Point and White cardstock.  A couple of pieces of Washi Glitter Gold Tape was cut into narrow strips and applied over top of the Doodlebug designer paper.  I thought this helped to coordinate well with the gold glitter on the snowman's buckle on his hat.  It was then time to add the image with foam tape for some dimension.  To add a bit more glitter, 4 YNS Candy Lane Glittered Gumdrops were also included around the main image.

For the sentiments on the inside of the gift card holder, I used white embossing powder.  To complete this card holder, a gift card was tucked away inside.

Supplies Used:
Ink - Tombow Markers - N15, N35, N95, 723, 535, 992, 761, and 491.  Versamark Ink Pad, Black Embossing Powder and White Embossing Powder.

Paper - Doodlebug-Sugarplums 6x6 Paper Pad; SU Pacific Point and White Cardstock.

Snowman Sled Ride (Created by Jane Z.)

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!
Come join our monthly challenge...and you could be the next winner of two High Hopes Stamps of your choice.  The details for the December Challenge - Christmas/Winter theme can be found here

The countdown has already started...Only 3 weeks til Christmas!!!

This is Snowman Sled Ride (SS010), along with the sentiment called Warm Winter Wishes (G310).  I just love snowmen images...they are just so adorable!

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to the snowman's nose.  Xmas Red Stickles was used for the holly berries and Frosted Lace Stickles were applied on the falling snow and snow on the hill.  Gold Stickles were used on the buckle of snowman's hat.  Stickles are extremely easy to use and add that nice bit of glitter to any card!

The image was die cut and layered using Spellbinders - circle dies.  The pattern paper is from Penny Black-Holiday Trimmings 6x6 Paper Pad, along with some SU Bermuda Bay and White cardstock. The snowman's scarf, patch, hat belt, and mittens were all paper pieced using different pattern paper from the Holiday Trimmings pad.  To create the falling snow and sky, I first used a Sizzix Embossing Folder called Snowfall.  I carefully placed the die cut circle image in a good location with the snow falling, as not to have too much snow on the snowman's face.  Once I had the image embossed, I sponged SU Bermuda Bay ink for the sky.  To sparkle up the falling snow, Frosted Lace Stickles were applied to each raised dot (snow falling).  I find this technique helps to create a more realistic effect of an actual snowfall.  So fun to experiment with too!

For the sentiment, I used white embossing powder.  A few strips of SU ribbon were added in the shape of hanging banners.  Foam tape was used under the sentiment to add some dimension.  To complete this card, a few YNS Gumdrops were added around the main image.

Supplies Used:
Ink - Tombow Markers - N15, N35, N95, 856, 133, 296, 761, 055, and 373.  Versamark Ink Pad, Black Embossing PowderWhite Embossing Powder, and SU Bermuda Bay Ink Pad for sponging the sky of the image.

Paper - Penny Black-Holiday Trimmings 6x6 Paper Pad; SU Bermuda Bay and White Cardstock.

Misc - Glossy AccentsFrosted Lace Stickles, Xmas Red Stickles, Gold Stickles, Spellbinders-Circle Dies, Sizzix-Snowfall Embossing Folder, SU Bermuda Bay Ribbon, YNS Gumdrops-Mermaid Fun, Sponge Dauber, Water Brush, Foam Tape, and Glue Dots.

Happy Mail (Created by Jane Z.)

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!
Come join our monthly challenge...and you could be the next winner of two High Hopes Stamps of your choice.  The details for the November Challenge can be found here.  The challenge runs through November 30th.  So don't delay!

For all you Black Friday/Cyber Monday Shoppers, be sure to stop by the High Hopes Stamps Website to find some awesome deals this weekend.  Happy Shopping!!!

This is Happy Mail (SS002), along with the sentiment called Holly Jolly (K048).  Who doesn't love to receive happy mail?!?!?!?  and especially at this time of year....

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to Hedgy's nose.  Xmas Red Stickles was used for the holly berries and Frosted Lace Stickles were applied to resemble snow on the top of the mailbox and ground covering.

The image was die cut using a Stitched Rectangle die.  The pattern paper is from Echo Park-Home for the Holidays 6x6 Paper Pad, along with some SU Chocolate Chip and White cardstock.  For the bow tie on Hedgy, I used a mini gingerbread man die from YNS, that included a bow tie.  The real reason hedgy has a bow tie on, is due to the fact that while I was colouring his tummy I had a little too much water on my brush and ended up paper piecing another tummy on him.  There was a slight line in between his head and body, that I wanted to cover either with a scarf or a bow tie.  When I found the bow tie was going to work, my dilemma was resolved.  I am always looking for creative ways to fix small boo boos like this, as some days things happen that we wish didn't!  LOL!

For the sentiment, I was hoping to create something that looked like a postage stamp.  I remembered I had a SU postage punch, that I don't think I've ever used, so I dug that up.  In order to layer the sentiment, I needed to punch out 4 postage punches and offset them, using Chocolate Chip cardstock to create a bigger postage stamp.  Foam tape was used under the sentiment to add some dimension.  To complete this card, a few clear rhinestones were added above the image and to the lower right side.

Supplies Used:
Ink - Tombow Markers - 491, N60, 847, 133, 245, 969, 977, 942, N35, and 800.  Versamark Ink Pad, Black Embossing Powder, SU Early Espresso Embossing Powder for sentiment, and SU Chocolate Chip Ink Pad for sponging edges of image and sentiment.

Paper - Echo Park-Home for the Holidays 6x6 Paper Pad; SU Chocolate Chip and White Cardstock.

Misc - Glossy AccentsFrosted Lace Stickles, Xmas Red Stickles, Stitched Rectangle die, YNS-mini gingerbread man die(bow tie), SU Postage Punch, Clear Rhinestones, Sponge Dauber, Water Brush, Foam Tape, and Glue Dots.

Happy Saturday Friends!  For today's post, I went with less dimension on this Christmas card, so that it could easily be mailed out.

This is Candy Cane Snowman (RR002).  Such an adorable and fun image to colour!!!

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I applied some Zig-Wink of Stella gold glitter pen for the buckle on the Snowman's hat.

The image was cut down to size and layered with red cardstock.  The pattern paper is from Teresa Collins-Candy Cane Lane 6x6 Paper Pad, along with some red cardstock.  Foam tape was used to raise the main image, to add a bit of dimension.  For the sentiment, Recollections-Glitter Tape was used.  To complete this card, a few pearls were added above and below the image.

Sleigh Ride (Created by Jane Z.)

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

Come join our monthly challenge...and you could be the next winner of two High Hopes Stamps of your choice.  The details for the November Challenge can be found here.  The challenge runs through November 30th.

With the mild weather in Southern Ontario this past week, it is hard to believe Christmas is next month!  I sure hope you have started on your Christmas cards, but if not...I hope the other Diva's cards and this card, may inspire you to get working on them!

This is Sleigh Ride (SS004) and Sm. Christmas Script Sentiment (F051). Such a cute image!!!

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to the Snowman's nose, holly berries, and Penguin's feet and beak.  Frosted Lace Stickles were applied to the Penguin's pompom and the snowflake dots on the sleigh.  Gold Stickles were added to the Snowman's hat buckle. A Zig-Wink of Stella clear glitter pen was used for the fur on the Penguin's hat.

The image was fussy cut.  The snow hills were created by using a Paper Smooches die called Stitched.  The tree dies are from Frantic Stamper called Tall Pine Trees. A white ink pad was used to sponge the trees to give it a more of a snowy appearance.  The pattern paper is from Bo Bunny-Dear Santa 6x6 Paper Pad, along with some blue, green, and white cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped with a blue ink pad.  I wanted to keep this card fairly flat so it could be mailed out; therefore, I never used any foam tape--which is quite unusual for me - LOL!  To complete this card, a few blue rhinestones were added to the corners of the card.

Supplies Used:

Ink - Tombow Markers - N15, N35, N75, 245, 985, 847, 856, 992, 977, 533, 535, and 761.  Versamark Ink Pad, Black Embossing Powder, White Ink Pad (sponging trees), and Blue Ink Pad (sentiment).

Paper - Bo Bunny-Dear Santa 6x6 Paper Pad; SU Blue, Green, and White Cardstock.

Misc - Glossy Accents, Frosted Lace Stickles, Gold Stickles, Zig-Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen, Blue Rhinestones, Paper Smooches-Stitched Die, Frantic Stamper-Tall Pine Trees die, Water Brush, and Glue Dots.
